The Taft Hotel
The Taft Hotel is a WordPress blog I set up in 2013 to reflect my growing interest in mid-century design, ephemera and movies.
I was inspired by rediscovering many of the picture books I had enjoyed as a child, including Miffy, Topsy and Tim, and Gwyneth Mamlok’s Candy series from the mid-1960s.
I enjoy visiting brilliant blogs like Theo Inglis’ Mid-century Modern Graphic Design and Susannah Walker’s Quad Royal.
The Taft Hotel is named after the venue for Benjamin’s assignations with Mrs Robinson, in Mike Nichols’s The Graduate, which is my all-time favourite movie.
The Taft Hotel was closed for a while, but it reopened in 2017 and my New Year’s resolution is to post there more often.
Thanks for reading!
